Self Care at 30,000 Feet: Elevate Your Flight Experience with These Tips

Air travel doesn't have to be just a means of getting from one point to another. It can also be an opportunity for self care and turning inwards. We've summed up some self care tips while on the plane, allowing you to arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and revitalised.

1. Hydrate Inside and Out

Airplane cabins can be quite dry, leading to dehydration and skin discomfort. Combat this by drinking plenty of water during the flight to stay internally hydrated. Additionally, consider using a hydrating facial mist or moisturiser to keep your skin nourished and refreshed throughout the journey.

Use our Nourishing Botanical Body Oil to combat the dry air in the cabin and seal in moisture on your skin. A plus that it has an invigorating scent to uplift the stale air in the cabin.

2. Prioritise Rest and Sleep

Long flights can be especially exhausting, so it's important to prioritise rest and sleep. Bring along a travel pillow, an eye mask and our After Dusk Pulse Oil to create a comfortable sleeping environment. Consider using noise-canceling headphones or playing calming music to help you relax and drift off to sleep.

3. Stretch and Move

Sitting for extended periods can cause muscle stiffness and discomfort. Combat this by incorporating gentle stretches and movement into your flight routine. Take short walks down the aisle whenever possible, perform simple seated exercises, or try yoga poses designed for small spaces. These movements will help improve circulation and alleviate muscle tension.

4. Pack Your Essentials

Create a self-care kit in your carry-on bag with items that bring you comfort and relaxation. This may include a favourite book and our Sun Seeker Pulse Oil to alleviate any travel discomfort you might experience during the flight. Having these personal touches will help create a calming and familiar atmosphere during your journey

5. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation

Use your time in the air to practice mindfulness and meditation. Close your eyes, focus on your breath, and tune in to the present moment. Use guided meditation apps or pre-downloaded calming music to help you find tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of air travel. Mindfulness exercises can help reduce stress and promote a sense of calm.

6. Disconnect and Unwind

Take advantage of the limited distractions and disconnected time during your flight to unwind. Put away electronic devices, indulge in a good book, or simply appreciate the beauty of the sky. Use this time to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with yourself.
